Danniella Westbrook

Danniella Westbrook threatens to quit

By by Simon Holden

Dedicated mum Danniella Westbrook broke down in tears in the Australian jungle on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, saying she missed her husband and children.

The former EastEnder headed off to the bush telegraph room to confess her feelings to the cameras on the ITV1 ratings winner.

"It is the first time I have been away from my family and the first time away from Kevin (her husband) since I was married and I would never do it again, not for any job in the world," she said. "I miss my kids, my husband and I miss chocolate. I am finding it really hard. It has taught me that I want to be at home with my kids. Working away from home is not good for me."

Former ballet dancer Wayne Sleep found out last night he will have to don a 'rat-food suit' and crawl among 300 live rats.

He took the news calmly after he received the most votes from the public watching the show.

Only in its third day, unofficial figures reveal the show has pulled in as many viewers as the climax of the first series. Almost 11m people tuned in to see the first programme.

Wayne started the first argument among the forest dwellers, complaining about not having anything to eat from 7am to 7pm. He said: "I need something in my body" before claiming that going without food was "barbaric".

Cricketer and birthday boy Phil Tufnell defused the situation by making a ludicrous remark. With a smirk he said: "I say we don't eat anything all day."

This green is the green I was painting the other day, looks great on the walls but totally shite here.

This is Daniella Westbrook in 1994. She was an actress in the popular soap opera 'Eastenders'. An attractive girl with a bright future ahead of her. She became addicted to cocaine. I don't encourage or condone the taking of any drug, be it alcohol, tobacco, cocaine or any other. If somebody wants to do it then its their life, let them live it as they choose as long it doesn't damage anybody but themselves. Despite this it horrified me to see this article in the Sunday newspaper about Danielle. I won't repeat any of her story here, after all, her life is none of my business, but the photo on the right is a before picture. If you want to, click it for the after picture. But you don't have to.

It occurred to me why I might want to put these pictures here. The answer I came up with was that if it affects me then I can tell about it. If it makes me laugh, annoys me, sickens or saddens me, touches me in any way then I can tell about it. But I don't want to be gratuitous, just putting things in my journal to shock. These pictures are here because they saddened and sickened me, not just because of her fate, but also because of the manner in which it was reported in the press.

That is all.

Danniella Westbrook dismisses EastEnders return

Snorts of derision at 'Enders return
Danniella Westbrook has dismissed suggestions that she will be the latest in a long line of old faces to return to EastEnders.

Westbrook was replaced as Sam Mitchell by Kim Medcalf in 2000 because of a well-documented drugs problem.

But rumours have suggested that, having long-recovered from her cocaine addiction, Westbrook is now wanted back by BBC bosses, as Medcalf is leaving Albert Square.

However, Westbrook, the original Sam Mitchell, has refused to confirm that any talks had taken place.

"There's been a lot of talk about it, but that's all it is," the actress said.

Meanwhile, Medcalf is to exit the soap via her character Sam doing a runner despite being cleared of Dirty Den's murder.

A show mole told the Daily Star: "The decision to leave is very hard for her but she really has no choice."

DANNI'S BREAK-IN TERROR

Star flees sunshine home

Exclusive By Suzanne Kerins

TERRIFIED Danniella Westbrook has fled her sunshine home in fear after being burgled twice then carjacked.

The ex-EastEnders blonde believes she and her family are being targeted by gangsters. Mum-of-two Danniella and husband Kevin Jenkins have now left their rented home in Monaco and moved back to Britain. Danniella, 31, and millionaire Kevin, 35, moved there in February with children, Kai, eight, and Jodie, three. A source said: "Danniella's distraught - their new life in the sun has been ruined."

It came after raiders stormed into their home twice in a month, fleeing with £100,000 in jewellery, phones, credit cards, outfits, TV and DVD systems. Two thugs then hijacked their car and sped off with Kevin's £10,000 Rolex and Danniella's handbag.

The source said: "They had been targeted by a gang in the UK and can't believe it's happened again. It was Danniella's big dream to live in the sunshine and return to the UK for work. She was really excited about house-hunting and finding the perfect pad, but it's gone horribly wrong." Kevin and Danniella, presenter of Five's Plastic Surgery Live, have been comforted by family and friends since returning to Britain.
